Louisa C. Tuck, who in her past worked as a porn star named Crystal Gunns, is working for D'Ippolito Elementary School as a teacher's aide. Apparently, you can't have any kind of past what so ever in New Jersey as parents and administrators are up in arms, wanting Ms. Tuck fired from her job. She hasn't done anything illegal, nor has she broken any rules of that particular school district, but everyone it seems wants her gone.
Board of Education President Frank Giordano, who emphasized he was speaking personally and not on behalf of the board or district officials, said he understands why parents are concerned. He said if he were a parent, he would be concerned, too.
"I don't know all the details, whether it's active or inactive," he said of the Web site. "I don't think it's a healthy situation. Period."
Giordano said he doesn't know Tuck and said she "could be one of the best aides we have," but her involvement in the adult entertainment industry makes him question how good of a role model she can be for students.
"Not speaking on behalf of Chalky or the school board members -- if it were up to me, I would terminate the individual and worry about where the chips are going to fall after," Giordano said. (emphasis mine)
Giordano clarified he was not saying what the district will do, just how he would react.
"At least I could say to parents: 'We terminated the employee. We had no choice. Here's the court order,'" he said.
This has to be the one quote that stuck in my mind. It is the quote that makes me shake my head at the hypocrisy of this man, and this place.
Do I understand a crime was not committed? Absolutely," Giordano continued. "But knowing it? I can't live with that."
Huh. To me that is a pathetic statement and one that tells me just how self-righteous this person is.
Now, am I condoning pornography in anyway? No, not at all. However, Ms. Tuck apparently has not been in this industry for at least 5 years, and has turned her life around. The article, which you can read here, states that she is working with children not only at the school but at the local YMCA and has the support of at least one parent there.
Shawn Rivers of Vineland has two children in the preschool program at the YMCA. She considers herself a close friend of Tuck's and said she "would trust her with my children at any time."
"She has nothing but love and compassion with all kids," Rivers said.
She called Tuck "an excellent role model with good values," adding she is appalled Tuck's background would make news.
"There's never been a problem with her reputation or conduct," Rivers said. "And I just want everyone to know that."
Do you remember what Jesus said to the men who brought the woman caught in adultery? Let me let you read it.
John 8:7-11
7. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself , and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
8. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10. When Jesus had lifted up himself , and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11. She said , No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.
As I said, I do not condone what she has done in the past, but who am I, or who is ANYONE to say they are better than she is? Who are these people, who would judge Ms. Tuck and tell her that she should not be able to hold a job, since she has done these things in the past, and no longer in the present?
I wonder if these people are sinless, if these people have never done anything in the past that would come back to haunt them.
These people who would condemn Ms. Tuck need to look to the Bible and then look at themselves. They do not need to condemn this lady. They need to help her continue to lift herself up and grow in her new direction.
